Stochastic Network Calculus for End-to-end Delay Evaluation of Avionics Multi-hop Virtual Links

چکیده
The VL (Virtual Link) concept used by AFDX network of modern aircraft such as A380 represents a big assumption for input flows characteristics. But mapping of many VL on a multi switch Ethernet architecture lead to potential congestion on a port of a (given) switch. Thus, there is strong need to prove that no frame will be lost by the network (no switch queue will overflow) and to evaluate the end-to-end transfer delay through the network. Several approaches have been proposed for this evaluation. Deterministic network calculus gives a guaranteed upper bound on end-to-end delays, while simulation produces more accurate results on a given set of scenarios. Stochastic network Calculus has been successfully used to calculate end-to-end delays distribution of mono switch flows. In this paper, we show how it can be extended to multi switches flows.

The Feedback Based Mechanism for Video Streaming Over Multipath Ad Hoc Networks
Ad hoc networks are multi-hop wireless networks without a pre-installed infrastructure. Such networks are widely used in military applications and in emergency situations as they permit the establishment of a communication network at very short notice with a very low cost. Video is very sensitive for packet loss and wireless ad-hoc networks are error prone due to node mobility and weak links. H...

The present work aims at the reduction of transmission delay at the level of AFDX ES (Avionics Full Duplex Switched Ethernet End-Systems). To this end, two approaches, namely Network Calculus and response time analysis (RTA), are employed in the computation of upper bound delay. To evaluate the delay regarding different scheduling policies, the arrival curve of the flow on output of ES is estab...

Packet switched networks and message multiplexing have been a major upgrade for industrial systems communications. In the avionics domain, this evolution was brought by the introduction of Avionics Full Duplex Switched Ethernet (AFDX). Guaranteed upper bounds of end-to-end delays for messages transmitted over an AFDX network are mandatory for certification reasons. In this article, we present t...
متن کاملA Cooperative Diversity-based Opportunistic Virtual MISO (OVM) Protocol for Multi-hop Wireless Networks
Wireless communications are highly errorprone due to inherent wireless channel effects, which include interference, multi-path fading, and noise. The conventional approach to reducing the effects of frequent channel errors is to attempt retransmitting the corrupted frames. This solution however introduces long end-to-end delay and channel usage inefficiency, especially in multihop wireless netw...
